Get loud during Pride Month at SAN FERNANDO VALLEY PRIDE on June 28, 2025! Come out to Van Nuys Blvd. & Gault St. by 11:30 AM to march Rooted in Resistance with your San Fernando Valley community!

The California Legislature’s House of Origin Deadline was June 6. This is when bill authors must receive enough votes in their house to move on to the second house. Next, I go through the committee process all over again in the Assembly! WATCH highlights of a few of my bills continuing along the legislative process.

Summer is here, and SUN Bucks are back! California’s Summer EBT program will help families by providing $120 for food. Automatic mailing begins now if your student is enrolled in free or reduced-price meals or received CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal this year. Parents who believe their child is eligible, but do not receive SUN Bucks, can apply via the Universal Benefits Application by September 2nd, available through your child’s school administrator’s office. The helpline is (877) 328-9677, or request assistance from my office at (818) 901-5588.

Check out the recent service and maintenance work done by CalTrans District 7 in San Fernando Valley HERE! YOU can request services by filling out a Customer Service Report. Please note CSRs take approximately 30 days to process and 2-4 weeks for the work to be completed. Call my office at (818) 901-5588 with the CSR number so a district rep can follow up on your case!

Our SD 20 Nonprofit of the Year, Chicas Mom, is hosting two Back to School events for students in need of free school supplies and educational workshops. June 25 is for students entering grades 6-12, and June 27 is for grades PreK-5. Events begin at 5 PM at 11187 De Foe Ave., Pacoima.

Nuestra Organización Sin Fines de Lucro del Ano SD 20 , Chicas Mom, organiza dos eventos de Regreso a Clases para estudiantes que necesitan útiles escolares gratuitos y talleres educativos. El 25 de junio es para estudiantes que ingresan a los grados 6-12, y el 27 de junio para los grados PreK-5. Los eventos comienzan a las 5 p. m. en 11187 De Foe Ave., Pacoima.
