Response to the Legislative Analyst's Office 2025-26 Budget: California's Fiscal Outlook
SACRAMENTO - Senator Caroline Menjivar (D- San Fernando Valley) released the following statement on findings in the Legislative Analyst's Office 2025-26 Budget: California's Fiscal Outlook.
“Over this year’s budget process, Budget Subcommittee #3 on Health and Human Services reviewed and voted on over 281 budget items under our purview, expending much thought and effort into prioritizing what we know the people of California are counting on for survival. I’m glad the Legislative Analyst’s Office has found that our labors, along with our counterparts across the budget committees, resulted in a proactively balanced budget.
While there may not be enough growth for new commitments, and we are entering a time of uncertainty with federal fund share, now more than ever, in the upcoming year we must continue to do everything possible to preserve the social safety net services that are proven to protect our communities."
