Welcome, Burbank & San Fernando Valley Friends!

Know Your Rights Graphic

With the influx of federal enforcement activity in our communities, I want to continue sharing a couple of important resources HERE. If you witness misconduct of these activities, members of the public may also report misconduct by Federal Agents to the California Attorney General at https://oag.ca.gov/reportmisconduct.

For guidance on locating a detained loved one make sure to follow these four steps.

How to Find a detained Loved One

Constituents may also stop by my office to pick up Know Your Rights materials and nonprofits who would like brochures or Red Cards can call in advance to arrange an order.

Legislative Update

The legislature is now on Summer Recess. My Capitol team put in serious work getting our bills through Assembly policy committees. The team will be ready to work on getting our bills to the governor’s desk once we’re back in session August 3rd. In the meantime I hope my Capitol Team doesn’t miss me too much!

In the Community

4th Of July Parade at Sunland Tujunga Annual Parade

America turned 250 this July, and I had the privilege of riding my paleta cart through Sunland-Tujunga’s 4th of July parade to connect with community leaders and members through popsicles and fun! This was a great reminder that we are a young country, with amazing accomplishments and so much more to learn, I will never stop fighting to make this the best country it can be. You can watch my recap of the parade HERE!

CalTrans Service Requests Types

Have you ever noticed issues like graffiti, overgrown brush, potholes or debris along our on/off ramps or on the freeway. You can help notify CalTrans by submitting a CalTrans Service Request through their portal at CSR.DOT.CA.GOV.  Next time you spot a CalTrans issue along your commute or neighborhood, my district staff can facilitate communication with the agency and ensure you are updated on the report!

Need help on how to submit one? Watch THIS video of my District Rep. Andres as he walks through how to submit one and what to do after!

Little Known Fact

Photo of Old Kid's Castle Dragon

Remember this dragon who resided in Burbank all those years ago? Well, this 16 foot childhood wonder, for many in the San Fernando Valley, still lives here today! Around 2 years ago the founder of the Valley Relics Museum, Tommy Gelinas, saved the dragon and continues to display him for all to see! At the museum the dragon continues his surveillance. However, now instead of the streets of Burbank he is watching over valley history and curious guests.
