The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) announced that starting February 24, 2026, the Dream For All Shared Appreciation Loan Program will open through March 16, 2026. This program is intended to help first generation homebuyers by helping with a substantial down payment and/or closing cost assistance.

About The Program:

This program will help with up to 20% of a down payment or closing costs but not, exceeding over $150,000. To do so, you must register for a voucher called the DFA voucher, which will be your ticket to be entered in a randomized drawing.

To be eligible, at least one borrower must be first generation, a California resident, and all borrowers must be first time homebuyers. You must check that your household income must meet CalHFA Dream For All Income Limits for the county of purchase.
