The More You Know

District Representative Brandon recently assisted a Sylmar constituent with a DMV case related to the private sale of their vehicle. When selling your car, it is important to submit the required DMV forms as soon as possible!

Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability (NRL) Notify the DMV you are no longer the vehicle owner in case of parking/traffic violations or civil/criminal actions after the date of sale.

Planned Non-Operation When a vehicle is in PNO status, at any time the vehicle is operated or parked where subject to citation, full registration fees and penalties for that year become due.

Title Transfer If you have purchased a vehicle through a private sale, you can conveniently submit your form online.

Senate District 20 Little Known Fact:

Do you have an iconic house from the small or silver screen in your neighborhood?

  • The Wonder Years - The Arnold house is right here in Burbank, where producers “found the perfect spot to encapsulate that retro Anywhere, U.S.A.-feel.”
  • Back to the Future - In the 80s, Marty Mcfly and Doc Brown were revving the DeLorean’s flux capacitor in Arleta!
  • E.T. The Extra Terrestrial - In the fall of 1981, one of Earth’s most beloved visitors from space and his friend Elliot were the first tenants of this newly-constructed Tujunga house
  • The Karate Kid - Very close to where I grew up, the South Seas Apartments in Reseda was once home to Valley legend, Daniel LaRusso.
