Senator Leyva, Assemblymember Rodriguez, Community Leaders Celebrate $35 Million Award Impact to City of Ontario

Project Plans Will Be On Hand at Press Conference

SACRAMENTO – On Friday, March 23rd at 10:30am, Senator Connie M. Leyva and Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez—along with City of Ontario and California Strategic Growth Council leaders, community activists, and related stakeholders—are announcing and celebrating the recent $35 million competitive grant award by the state to Ontario as part of their Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) Program.

Funded with Cap-and-Trade Program auction proceeds, these important funds will help revitalize Ontario’s downtown area and improve public transportation and pedestrian/bicycle facilities, increase affordable housing, offer enhanced energy efficiency opportunities, and boost food security and green space in the community.
