Select Committee Hearing
On Friday, September 16, Senator Leyva called to order an informational hearing of the Senate Select Committee on Manufactured Home Communities. The subject of the hearing was “Improving Mobilehome Parks through Education and Licensing of Property Managers.” As chair of the committee, Senator Leyva asked questions and led the three-hour discussion.
Panelists gave brief presentations and then answered Senator Leyva’s questions on whether a mandatory training and licensing program for onsite managers would alleviate many of the problems that have been reported to and by the committee. For the final portion of the hearing, Senator Leyva listened to important testimony offered by members of the public.
Senator Leyva greatly appreciated the input from panelists and the public. The committee will prepare a wrap-up report and transcription of the hearing.
