Thursday, April 27, 2017

Senator Connie M. Leyva hosted her 1st Annual Career Technical Education Fair on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Robert E. Petersen Garage at the Fairplex in Pomona.  The Senator partnered with The Learning Centers at Fairplex and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

Dozens of career technical schools came out to meet and speak with students from the greater San Gabriel and Inland Empire area.  There was an opportunity at the event for job seekers to take part in INTEC’s forklift simulator and, at the same booth, were able to see a 3D printer in action. If that did not career path did not interest them, they could also look over and taste the job opportunities in the culinary arts arena from the Pomona Unified Regional Occupational Program (ROP).  Many CTE Fair participants expressed their strong desire to participate in similar future opportunities and CTE Fairs, as well as to speak with and learn from various CTE career professionals in the region.
