Career Day with Connie
On Friday March 17, 2017, Senator Leyva delivered on her commitment to host another 'Career Day with Connie' at Marshall Middle School in Pomona. The Senator and Career Day volunteer speakers received an enthusiastic welcome by student ambassadors while Pharrell William’s upbeat tune “Happy” played in the background.
Principal Juan Ortiz thanked the Senator for delivering on her promise to return to Marshall and for her assistance towards the renovation of the school cafeteria. Over 20 classrooms and 500 students directly benefited from the successful event.
'Career Day with Connie' is a program focused on increasing the educational attainment levels of students throughout the 20th Senate District by exposing them to the various career pathways that exist through the narratives of community-oriented volunteer speakers.
